Spinner wheel mileage
Loaded and run on a rough belt for kilometres, not metres. Wheels are the first thing to fail on cheap luggage, so they get the longest run of the ten.
Handle lift
The telescopic handle is pulled thousands of times on a rig, then the trolley and side handles are lifted fully loaded. The handle you grab putting it in a boot is tested as hard as the one you pull.
Staircase impact
Dragged loaded up and down steps, corner first. This is the test that finds a weak frame, and it is exactly the thing a folding case has to prove.
Tumble drum
A rotating drum standing in for the worst baggage handling you are likely to meet. The shell is the same polycarbonate used in standard hard luggage, and the patented frame locks rigid the moment it is open.
What owners report.
